- Robert James Trivett Sr., age 85, of Matthews, North Carolina went to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 12th, 2022. Robert was born in Avery County, N.C. on August 21st, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents Eldridge and Mamie Oakes Trivett, siblings Clarence, Betty, Lee and Doris also his daughters Melinda and Shannon. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Thelma (nee Grammer), sons Robert Jr. (wife Jan) and Steve (wife Veda), grandsons Christopher, Michael and Joshua, granddaughter Lizzy. He was an Air Force veteran and a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church (Long/Jones S.S. class). He enjoyed traveling with friends and family and attending Southern Gospel music concerts.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, February 19th, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28227. A celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 pm. A private interment will occur Monday, February 21st, 2022, in Newland, N.C.
