- Peggy Jean Ward Martin, age 71, Elizabethton passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 at James H. and Cecile C. Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Frances Bowling Ward. Mrs. Martin attended Oak Street Baptist Church. She was a Program Clerk at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul H. Campbell, in 1982, her second husband, Harry L. “Buddy” Martin in 1998.
Survivors include three brothers. Several nieces and nephews, a special great nephew and a great great niece also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Peggy Jean Ward Martin, will be conducted at 7 P.M. Monday, July 5, 2010 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Steve Waycaster and Mr. Jack Ward, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday from 6 P.M. until 7 P.M.
Inurnment service will be conducted on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
