- Thelma Forbes Hampton, age 102, of Linville passed away on November 20, 2012 at Roan Highlands Nursing Center in Roan Mountain, TN.
She was born November 12, 1910 a daughter of the late John Wesley and Rosa Burleson Forbes.
She was a member of the Linville Evangelical Methodist Church. Thelma had worked for many years as the Hostess for Esseola Lodge and enjoyed cooking, canning, and being with her family.
Along with her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her: husband, Francis Marion Hampton; brothers, Murphy Forbes, Cody Forbes, Carson Forbes, John W. Forbes, Jr.; sisters, Agnes Henley, Myrtle Greene, Elsie Harmon, Edna Forbes, Margaret Shell, and Josephine Turlington.
Thelma has left to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Tanglewood cemetery.
