- Dorothy Fair Dykes of Goose Creek, S.C., passed away September 2, 2022, after a brief illness. Dorothy was born January 15, 1937, in Elizabethton, Tenn., to the late Coy Fair and Ethel Perry Fair.
Dorothy attended Elizabethton High School (Class of 1955). She was a hair stylist before retiring from Evans Rule Company, Goose Creek, S.C. She was a former member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Elizabethton, Tenn., and later became a member of Harbour Lake Baptist Church, Goose Creek.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 67 years, Gerald Dykes, who retired from the U.S. Navy. After extensive travel in the U.S. and overseas, Dorothy and Gerald settled in Goose Creek, a suburb of Charleston, S.C. Dorothy is also survived by her daughter, Ginger (Jerol) Wright, her son, Gary W. Dykes, granddaughter, Kaylee Wright, grandson, Trey (Rose) Wright, and great-granddaughter, Autumn Wright, all of Goose Creek; one sister, Ann (BIll Jr.) Ingram of Elizabethton; her brothers-in-law, Richard Dykes of Elizabethton and Danny Jenkins of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The graveside service was held September 6 in Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston, S.C.
