- Charles Roscoe Hyatt, 59, 601 Maple Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Hyatt was a native of Carter County and a son of Mrs. June February Hyatt Bartz, Elizabethton, and the late Roscoe Hyatt. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Hyatt, April 30, 1995, and his grandparents, W.S. and Emma February.
Mr. Hyatt was a 1961 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He had lived in the State of Washington from 1962 until he retired in 1995 and returned to Elizabethton. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 302, Seattle, Wash. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, having served in the United States Army.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley Charles and Melissa Hyatt, Elizabethton; three sisters, Linda Gail Adams, Johnson City, Debbie Carlson Stevenson of Michigan, and Carol Cox, Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Bob Hyatt, Elizabethton; a half brother, David Bartz, Elizabethton; and three grandchildren, Mark Miner, Steven Lapp and Brittany Hyatt.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
HYATT -- Funeral services for Charles Roscoe Hyatt, 59, 601 Maple Street, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hyder officiating. Music will be provided by Tracie Proffitt and Tracie Shelton. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, in the Willis Cemetery, Hampton. Military Graveside Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, will be Albert Willis, Harry Page, Curtis Morton, Bobby Morton, Greg Adams, Mark Miner and Steven Lapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Johnson, Joe Willis, John Hardin and Jeff Hyder.
