- Howard Dana Guy, 82, of Canton, Ga., passed away on September 23, 2021, at his residence.
Howard was born in Avery County, N.C., to the late Dana Guy and Ruth Stout Guy. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brother, William “Bill” Hicks, and sisters, Alma Church, Shirley Potter and Mabel Maxine Guy.
Howard Guy was a devoted husband who treasured his beautiful wife of 63 years, Crystal Rose Guy. He was a loving Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend to many. He was an expert fisherman who loved being outdoors. He was a singer with a beautiful voice and a wonderful friend who never met a stranger. He retired as a Supervisor with Ford Motor Company.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Crystal Rose Guy; daughters, Joy Annette Severino (John) of Canton, Ga., Tammy Rose Phipps (Ricky) of Woodstock, Ga., and Sharon Lynn Angel (Michael) of Woodstock, Ga.; son, Howard “Keith” Guy of Canton, Ga.; grandsons, Joshua Keith Moore, Jason Severino (Lori), Jesse Severino and Jackson Severino, Dakoda Phipps, Anthony Fernandez, Gabriel Fernandez and Keith Lee Guy, Ian Maynard; granddaughters, Sharon Rose Harden, Mechelle Karolyi, Amber Hyatt, Crystina Ruth Howard and Rebecka Quinn; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Olivia, Jolynn, Jasper, Ledger, Luke, Jazmine, Johnathon, Mason and Raven; sisters, Wilma Henthorn, Joyce Dugger, Sandra Nunley and Vickie Whaley; Uncle, Pastor Bobby Stout; and special double first cousin, Creed Guy. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 16, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, from 5 until 7 p.m. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Howard Guy will be conducted on Sunday, October 17, in the Piney Grove Church of Christ at 1 p.m. with Mr. Dean Estep, minister, officiating. The graveside service will be in the Piney Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Moore, Dakoda Phipps, Travis Guy, Jamie Guy, Terry Anderson, Joe Hollyfield and Jason Lerczak.
