- Georgia Williams, age 90, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Gail.
She was born April 16, 1922 in Unicoi County and had been a lifelong resident of Unicoi County, a daughter of the late James Willard and Anna Lee Tipton Lewis.
Mrs. Williams was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her church and church family at Mountain Dale Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams loved to travel and had been to 48 states, Canada, and Novia Scotia.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Glen English, her second husband, Fred Williams; infant twin children, Fate and Kate English; son, Clyde Williams; beloved granddaughter, Rebecca Keever; grandson, Gary Dean English, Jr.; two brothers, Jay Lewis and Fred Lewis; five sisters, Thelma Gouge, Edith Wilson, Reva Hensley, Jean Barnett, and Billie Wright.
Mrs. Williams is survived by four children: Kay Effler and husband, Robert, Unicoi, Gary English and wife, Betty, Erwin, Gail Radford, Erwin, and Joy Williams, Jonesborough; nine grandchildren: Kathy Estep, Glen Effler, Linda Tipton, Robbie Effler, Michelle Zundel, Janet Townsend, Tammy Radford-Williams, Jennifer Davis, and Tia Hammitt; eleven great-grandchildren: Travis Tipton, Brooke Humphreys, Chase Effler, Lacey Tipton, Caleb Hoilman, Zane Zundel, Jesse Zundel, Samantha Townsend, and Bryan Townsend, Amber Radford, and Thatcher Keever; four great-great-grandchildren: Iziah Townsend, Raziel Townsend, Alura Zundel, and Ciena Zundel.
two sisters: Lois Wilhelm, Erwin, Betty DeHaven and husband, Don, Erwin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Williams will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012, at Mountain Dale Free Will Baptist Church. Reverend Tommy Hensley will officiate. She will be taken to the church one hour preceding the service.
Active pallbearers will be Everett Hughes, Ray Chandler, Ray Wilhelm, Steve Price, F. C. Peterson and R. L. Peterson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Wright, Troy Zundel, Gerald Nordeen, Howard Townsend.
Honorary pallbearer in Heaven, Charles "Boots" Wilhelm.
Interment will follow the service in Willard Lewis Family Cemetery.
