- Edna Kate Grimes, 64, of 5819 Hunter Road, Columbus, died Saturday at The Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel, Macon Road, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery, according to the funeral home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Grimes was born June 13, 1931, in Erwin, Tenn., daughter of Louise Edwards and James William Engle. A resident of Columbus for the last 35 years, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Wiley; two sons, Ronald Jenkins of Newport News, Va., and Jimmy Wilson of Columbus; four daughters, Sue Merritt, Linda McClellan, Sylvia Toussaint and Karen Solomon, all of Columbus; three brothers, George Engle of Eagleville, Tenn. and I.G. Engle and Carl Engle, both of Erwin; a sister, Mamie Cousins of Erwin; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
