- Juanita S. Carr, 94, of Bluff City, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from her residence. Juanita was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy Hodges Berry. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Carr; two brothers, Ira Berry and James Berry; a son-in-law, Lloyd Elliott; and two brothers-in-law, Ed Wolfe and Carl Bullock.
Juanita was a loving, Christian woman who loved her church family and always helped whenever she was needed because church and God were first in her life. Everyone called her “Granny” because she loved everyone unconditionally and always had a smile. Juanita retired as a seamstress and was a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church where she had a perfect attendance for over 30 years! At the church she was not only a faithful member but had also taught Sunday school and was a member of the Lady’s Circle. In addition to her church functions, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, tending to her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her many loving memories include her daughter, Arlene Elliott; her grandson, Chris (V.V.) Elliott; two granddaughters, Mitzi (Jeff) Baker and Melissa Elliott; her great-grandchildren, Nelson (Gracie Norman) Elliott, Laiken (Zach Miller) Cox, Tyler Cox, Shyanne Baker, Justin Baker and Emily Baker; and her sisters, Arlene “Sissy” Bullock and Opal Wolfe. Several nieces, nephews, church family, and other extended family also survive.
A service to celebrate and honor the life of Juanita S. Carr will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 1, at Bunker Hill Christian Church with Mr. Brad Perry and Mr. Grant Foster, ministers, officiating. Music will be under direction of the Bunker Hill Christian Church members. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 until 6 p.m., prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 2, in the Morrell Cemetery in Bluff City.
