- Roy A. Lilly, 81, of Bowling Green died Dec. 1, 2007, at The Medical Center.
The Beckley, W.Va., native was a retired teacher and principal at Potter Gray Elementary School, a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in geology and a master's degree in education. He was a former swimming and diving champion at WKU, a former coal miner, telephone lineman and co-owner of a beauty shop. He was a former Marine, a Realtor, a Kentucky Colonel, a Boy Scout master and a notary public. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a man of highest integrity and honesty as well as a loving and devoted husband. He was the son of the late Ira and Lessie Hubbard Lilly. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Eddie Lilly.
Survivors include his wife, Martina Elaine Lilly; a son, Craig B. Lilly of Bowling Green; two brothers, Ira Lilly Jr. and wife, Ann, of O'Fallon, Ill., and Paul Lilly of Jonesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Geneva Scott of Houston, and a sister-in-law, Katherine Lilly of Johnson City, Tenn.
Burial was in Bowling Green Gardens.
