- ELIZABETHTON - Mrs. Dollie E. Church, 91, 146 Liberty Hollow Road, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Lawson and Mollie Johnson Morton. She was a retired seamstress. Mrs. Church was a member of the Stoney Creek Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School for several years and also sang in the Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Church; five brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include two sons & their wives: Gene & Pat Church and Glenn & Joyce Church, all of Elizabethton; a daughter & son-in-law: Carol & Rev. Robert Howard, Kannapolis, North Carolina; Five Grandchildren and their spouses: Gregory E. & Celeste Church, Barry R. & Sabrina Howard, Donna & Randy Belk, David & Vicky Church and Stephen & Lori Church; five great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Church will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Jordan and Rev. Richard Estep officiating. Graveside service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Gregory Church, Barry Howard, David Church, Stephen Church, Randy Belk, Dean Grindstaff, Doug Ranshaw and Glenn Tester. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Staff & Employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, The Staff of ICU, Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Her Church Family, Dr. Claire Paris & Associates, Dr. Alainya Hare, George Church and Dr. Jim Royston.
