- ELIZABETHTON — Mrs. Gladys Mae Taylor, 91, formerly of Taylor Town Road, Elizabethton, died on Thursday, December 20, 2007, in Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
She entered Heaven's gates to be with her precious Savior. She was a sweet and loving Mother, Grandmother and friend to all.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Mary Belle Deloach Winters; her husband, Elwood Taylor; two sons, Lloyd Ray Taylor, Clifford Taylor; one daughter, Charlotte Morton; one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and W.C. Rasnick, Elizabethton, Frances (Otcie) and Fred Sluder, Elizabethton, Vickie and Wayne Barry, Mountain City, Jenny and Ernest Rosenbaum, Ringold, GA; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Douglas Taylor, Elizabethton, Kenneth and Barbara Taylor, Johnson City; one brother, Lloyd Winters, Elizabethton; seventeen grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special friend, Gerald Clark of Life Care Elizabethton and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Taylor will be conducted on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at 8:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel with Rev. Jackie Cole, Rev. Steve Burleson and Rev. Mike Robinson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ms. Becky Darnell, soloist. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Sunday, December 23, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 PM Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jim Nave, Terry Oliver, Darrell Hardin, David Collins, Gary Rosenbaum and Mike Rosenbaum. Honorary pallbearers will be Lustus Woods, Jr., Richard Blevins and Gary Smith. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday prior to the service and at the home of Diane Rasnick, 110 Little Avenue, Biltmore Community at other times.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff, nurses and CNAs at Life Care Center of Elizabethton, especially Maxine, Kitty and Nina and to Caris Healthcare Hospice for all their help and concern for our Mother.
