- Ms. Bernice Holtsclaw Cable, age 96 of Marion, passed away peacefully at Autumn Care of Marion during the early morning hours of Sunday, July 07, 2019. A native of Elizabethton, Tennessee, she was born on June 21, 1923 to the late John and Zealie Holtsclaw.
A member of Grandview Baptist Church, Bernice was known to have a love of crocheting, fishing, and traveling. Her family describes her as having been a wonderful cook. Bernice loved her family and especially her canine companion, Kenny. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Cable.
Left to cherish her memory are a special niece, Gloria Whitehead; five siblings, Dimple Holtsclaw, Effie Holtsclaw Whitehead, Cline Holtsclaw, Reese Holtsclaw and William Holtsclaw; one sister-in-law, Mary Morefield (Bill); and her four brothers-in-law, Alan Fincher (Melodi), Everette Cable (Genevia), Gerald Cable (Helga), Eddie Cable (Jenny) and Donald Cable (Faye). She also leaves behind special friends, Marie Wiggins, Veronica Wiggins, Jessie Hensley, Paul Presnell, and Barbara McFarland, who she thought of as a daughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
