- Nellie, a native of Johnson City, TN and a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for 40 years, died in Jacksonville, FL.
Nellie was the head Drum Majorette for two years at Science Hill High School and graduated with honors in 1953. She was voted to have the best personality in her class.
She is the daughter of Robert and Nellie Leonard. Nellie is survived by her husband of 56 years, James B. Brinkley, her son, Robert J. Brinkley, two grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and many other loving family members and friends.
Nellie was a successful business woman active in Real Estate Property Management of her own properties including a 100 unit mobile home park in Jacksonville, FL and two carwashes. Her enthusiasm, friendliness, and energy contributed much to the success of these ventures.
She was a loving mother, a best friend, a loving companion to her husband. She never met a stranger and was liked by everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services for Nellie will be held 2:30p Monday, March 16, 2009 at JACKSONVILLE NATIONAL CEMETERY IN JACKSONVILLE, FL.
