- ERWIN — James Milton McInturff, age 89, of Erwin, passed away, Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. McInturff was a lifelong native of Erwin and a son of the late Charlie and Mamie Randolph McInturff. James was a self employed carpenter and retired from CSX Railroad as an inspector. He served in the Army during WWII. He attended Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, June Story McInturff; two sons: Jimmy Jr. and Edward McInturff; several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by: Daughter: Dinah Riddle; husband, George, Erwin; Son: Larry McInturff, Erwin; Sisters: Lena Bradley, Erwin, Ernestine Peterson, Erwin, Vivian Renfro, Greeneville, Betty Jean Randolph, Aiken, SC; Grandchildren: Travis McInturff, wife, Debbie, Piney Flats, Russell Riddle, wife, Christy, Elizabethton, Jimmy Riddle, wife, Heather, Gray, Tammy Wells, husband, Jeremy, Erwin; Great Grandchildren: Kristen McInturff, Kaitlyn McInturff, Allison Riddle, Montana Riddle, Emily Wells and Alex Riddle.
The funeral service for Mr. McInturff, will be at 7:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Sam Nichols will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until service on Saturday.
Committal service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2012, with Military Honors at Evergreen Cemetery.
