- Mrs. Ina Lee Silvers Tipton, age 91, 1579 Highway 352, Flag Pond passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Anderson and Minnie Silvers. Mrs. Tipton was a homemaker and a member of Sweetwater Church of God. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, James Silvers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of sixty-six years, Hoy W. Tipton; one daughter, Polly Woodward and husband, Ray of Erwin; one brother, J. B. Silvers and wife, Millie of Burnsville; two sisters: Vernie Briggs of Flag Pond, Velva Sparks and husband, Freeman of Erwin; two grandsons: Joseph Williams, Ashley Woodward and wife, Christy; two great grandchildren: Abigail Woodward and Carson Woodward; three step-great grandchildren: Cheyenne Simerly, Kianna Hopson and Miley Hopson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. until the hour of service on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the residence. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate at the 8:00 P. M. funeral service. Music will be provided by the Sweetwater Church of God Choir. Pallbearers will be Edgar Rice, Blake Tipton, Ben Brackins, Ashley Woodward, Hunter Pate and Craig T. Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Williams and Carson Woodward. Committal services will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Tuesday in the Evergreen Cemetery.
