- Helen Gouge Garland, 82, Unicoi, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin.
A native of Mitchell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Daisey McKinney Gouge.
Mrs. Garland was employed as a nurse and worked for Texas Instruments for sixteen years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Gouge.
Survivors include her husband Clyde William Garland; Son and Daughter-in-law, Michael E. Garland and wife Melanie, Unicoi and Son, Daniel R. Garland, Johnson City and special friend Nancy Casteel. Seven Sisters: Mable Cooke, Unicoi, Marcella Peterson and husband Malone, Unicoi, Mima Jean Taylor, Fall Branch, Yvonne McKinney, Johnson City, Kathy Green & husband Harold, Johnson City, Jewel Hubbard & husband Sammy, Johnson City and Wanda Davis & husband Norman, Elizabethton and One Brother, William H. Gouge and wife Grace, Unicoi. Several Nieces & Nephews. Graveside Service and Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Saturday, August 1, 2015
