- David "Junior" Presnell, age 60, 136 Brown Rd, Elizabethton died Thursday, July 14, 2005 in University of Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James Monroe and Molly Ann Harrison Presnell. Mr. Presnell had worked for North American Rayon Corporation and retired from Harris-Tarkett, Johnson City. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 360, Elizabethton. Mr. Presnell was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Presnell was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Glenn and Billy Presnell and one sister, Bernice Presnell.
Survivors are his wife, Hildred Presnell, Elizabethton, step-daughter, Shatona Williams, Jonesborough, two sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Christy Presnell, Roan Mountain, Gilbert and April Presnell, Elizabethton, nine wonderful grandchildren, two brothers, Carl Presnell, Cudahy, WI, Lawrence and Yvette Presnell, Wankesha, WI, three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Luvena and Dennis Erwin, Hampton, Betty and Norman Glover, Elizabethton, Valerie and Dale Miller, Mahla Boula, Kuwait, one sister-in-law, Lovella Presnell, Milwaukee, WI, special friend James Kegley, and ex-wife, Jane Presnell Stout. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Presnell will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 17, in the Tetrick Funeral Home Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain with Rev. Jim Murray and Rev. Gary Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel or at other times at Mr. Presnell's residence or at the residence of his sister, Betty Glover, 144 Brown Rd., Elizabethton.
The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18 in Harrison-Presnell Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the funeral home chapel in Roan Mountain at 10:25 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Miller, Jimmy Berry, Curtis McKinney, Tommy Erwin, Greg Erwin and William Erwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Presnell and Shane Presnell.
