- Mrs. Virgie Mae Cable, 77, formerly of 510 Maple Street, Elizabethton, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Cable was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Frank and Ida Mann Henson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coy C. Cable, in 1982, and by a brother and six sisters.
Mrs. Cable was a member of New Testament Baptist Church and the Elizabethton Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a brother, Clay Henson, Hickory, N.C., and a sister, Bernice Hartley, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Mae Cable, 77, formerly of 510 Maple Street, Elizabethton, who died Friday, July 18, 2003, were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 19, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Trivette and the Rev. Bob Dingus officiating. Music was under the direction of Jerry Barnett, soloist.
Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, in the Flat Springs Cemetery, Avery County, N.C.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Cable, James Bowers, Ernest H. Buchanan, Ronnie Trivette, Lewis Merryman, William Trammell, Carroll Broome, Robert Turbyfill, Carl Cable, Dewey Guy, Bill Hensley, David Grindstaff and Larry Stout.
