- Mr. Chester Nave, 95, of 250 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2006, in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Nave was a native of Carter County and was the son on the late Robert Campbell & Mary Kate Estep Nave.
He was retired from Bemberg, had worked for the U.S. Forestry Service, and was a former part time employee of Tetrick Funeral Home. He was a member of Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Nave enjoyed woodworking, fishing and taking photographs.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nave was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Chambers Nave on June 13, 2005, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Campbell of Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Faye Nave of Inverness, Fl; one grandson, Steven Campbell of Elizabethton, one granddaughter and
grandson-in-law, Kathy and Kenny Clifton of Elizabethton; five great grandchildren, Justin Clifton, Logan Clifton, Taylor Clifton, Dawson Clifton and Kindra Campbell all of Elizabethton; and a sister, Eola Nave of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Nave will be conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel in Elizabethton with Rev. Derl Curry and Mr. David Tysinger, Minister officiating. The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel prior to the service or at the residence, 250 Keenburg Road at other times. The graveside service and interment will be Sunday, December 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Emmert Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Estep, Carl Burrough, Willie Nave, Justin Clifton, Logan Clifton and Kenny Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church, friends and neighbors and the 3rd floor nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
