- Deward "Richard" Lewis age 77 of Canton, Ohio fell asleep in death Friday evening May 30, 2003 after a long struggle from complications of heart surgery. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Paralee Lewis of the home, children, Dale Lewis and wife Patty of Canal Fulton and Darlene Copley of Lancaster, OH. A sister Robina Hall of Elizabethton, TN., brother-in-law, Kermit Lewis and sister-in-law, Charlene Ellis both of North Carolina. He was a wonderful grandfather to seven grandchildren, Dorinda (Lewis) Weaver, Darian Lewis, Andrea Lewis, Aaron Lewis, Denese Ashbaugh, Devona McCoy and David Copley. He was also a great-grandfather to ten great grandchildren, Cody, TazzLee, Brittany, Jesse, Miciah, Mackenzie, Alex, Tiffany, Dakota and Brendan. He was born in North Carolina on June 22, 1925 and moved to Canton in 1947. He was a retired employee of the Three C's Trucking Co., retiring after 35 years of service. He attended the West Canton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Private services for the family will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Petros officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
