- Roy Lee Renfro, 96, of Elizabethton, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Desky Moreland and was raised by his father, Stuart Renfro, and stepmother, Lottie Renfro Hyder. Mr. Renfro was a retired welder, having been employed for several years with the Crucible Steel Mills of Midland, Pa., and was a farmer. He attended Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. He was owner of Renfro Trailer Park. He has gone to be with his wife of 53 years, Romaine Bowen Renfro, who died May 24, 1984, and by six brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Jenelle Kyte of Tappahannock, Va., and Sue Worthington, of the home; two sons, James S. Renfro of Elizabethton and Allen D. Renfro of Dothan, Ala.; 11 grandchildren, including a
special grandson, Richard Renfro; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Renfro will be conducted at 8 .m. Monday, July 9, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be provided by Jennifer Crabtree. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Happy Valley
Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandchildren, Edward Lee Kyte, Donald Keith Kyte, Whitney
Worthington, Eric Worthington and Richard Renfro, and grandson-in-law, Ray Throckmorton. Honorary
pallbearers will be Dr. Todd Whitaker, Jennifer Crabtree, Dave "Baby Doll" Peeks, Tony Bowers, Allen Paul Renfro, Brett Spates, the staff of Medical Care and friends of Hal's Car Lot. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Adventa Hospice especially Dottie Bentley, Sherrie White, Mary
Knott and Rev. Doug Rinshaw for all their love and care.
