- Janice E. Maupin, 72, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center. Janice was born in Elizabethton to the late Joe Stonecipher and Gladys Davis Stonecipher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Eddie Maupin; two brothers, Curtis and Jerry Stonecipher; and one sister, Clara Salts.
Janice was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. She found enjoyment in many things throughout life. A few of the more notable things she found the most enjoyment in was her church, her dog, Mylika, and reading.
Those left to cherish Janice's memory include her daughter, Denise Maupin of Johnson City, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Jordonna Shockley of Elizabethton, Tenn.; one grandson, Quinton Alexander of Johnson City, Tenn.; three sisters, Judy Lewis and husband Robert of Elizabethton, Tenn., Joan Boardman and husband Ted of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Diane Edwards and husband Terry of Johnson City, Tenn.; and one brother, Joe Stonecipher and wife Jenny of Gray, Tenn. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Janice E. Maupin will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Teddy Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
