- Frances N. Rice, 87, of Rome passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at a local assisted living facility. Born on April 17, 1930 in Elizabethton, TN, she was the daughter of the late James Taylor and the late Tishi Pearl Estep Taylor. She graduated from Unaka High School. Mrs. Rice enjoyed her craft work which included sewing and quilting. She was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Rice Sr., and three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law; her 3 grandchildren; her 3 great grandchildren; and her sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 am at Oaknoll Chapel with The Reverend Mikel Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the service time.
