- Blanche Freeman Hubbard, 92, 1709 Scenic Drive, Johnson City , went to be with her Lord and Savior, September 8, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Hubbard was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Dollie Arnett Freeman and Henry C. Freeman. She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw.
Mrs. Hubbard was a homemaker and enjoyed hardening, quilting and making apple butter. Mrs. Hubbard was a former employee of the American Bemberg Corporation, North American Rayon and Leon-Ferenbach. She attended the Grace Baptist Church in Johnson City.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Plummer Hubbard; three sisters, Essie Tester, Pauline Sapp and Francis Willis; one half sister, Maude Miller; four brothers, James Freeman, David E. Freeman, Frank Freeman and Marion Freeman; and one half brother, John Freeman. Survivors include: two daughters, Dollie Conley, of the home and Josephine Shaffer and her husband James, Fremont, CA; one son, Bill Junior Hubbard, and his wife, Jennie , Johnson City; one sister, Nina Pickering, Gray, TN; three brothers, Matthew Freeman, Johnson City, George "Paul Freeman, Gray and John Wesley Freeman, Johnson City; three grandsons, Larry Hubbard, Johnson City, Billy Hubbard and his wife Cathy, Erwin and Mike Shaffer and his wife Sandy, San Leandro, CA; seven granddaughters, Desiree Peterson and her husband, Ben, Johnson City, Teresa Lawson and her husband, Benny, Watauga, Lisa Adams and her husband, Paul, Elizabethton, Jennie Hall and her husband, Greg, Japan, Vanessa Hazen and her husband, J.D, Washington, MO, Judy Allen and her husband, Ray, West Sacramento, CA, Paulette Wales and her husband, Jay, East Hampton, MA; twenty-five great grandchildren, sixteen great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ralph Jones, Delores Grindstaff, Jerry Norris, Joann Gray, Mike and Tina Archer and the Kate Miller Sunday School Class with teacher, Paul Renfro.
The funeral service for Mrs. Blanche Freeman Hubbard will be conducted at 8 PM Saturday,September 10, 2005 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Reverend Elbert D. Charpie will officiate. Music will be under the direction of Tammy Sexton and Reverend Charpie. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park.
