- Faye Hensley, age 95, of Elizabethton, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Faye was born in Carter County to the late Reece Hill and Hattie Street Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Hensley; a sister, Madge Campbell; her brothers-in-law, Darrell Campbell, James M. Hensley, Jr. and Paul Treadway; and a sister-in-law, Helen Hensley.
She attended Hampton High School and was the oldest member of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church. Faye was lovingly known as the "Dumpling Lady" for her wonderful chicken and dumplings.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Tony Hensley and wife Christine, and Mike Hensley and wife Kim; one grandson, Gary Scott Hensley and his wife, Theresa; great grandchildren, Cody Hensley and Dustin Hensley; Step great grandsons, Brent McClain and wife Heather, Cody Honeycutt and wife Nichole; step great grandchildren, Kaylee Honeycutt, Jayda McClain; one great great grandson, Cameron Hensley; and a sister-in-law, M. Marie Treadway.
A service to celebrate the life of Faye Hensley will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 13, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Vic Young and Dustin Hensley, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday or at the home of Mike Hensley, at other times.
The graveside service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery beginning at 1:00 PM.
