- Charlie J. "Buck" Laws, 80, of 106 Skyland Drive, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006 at home. Born in Dry Creek, TN, he was the son of the late William C. and Myra Peterson Laws. Mr. Laws was retired from Renfrew Bleachery and spent many years driving for Central Transport. He was a deacon and member of the Marietta First Freewill Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was playing bluegrass and gospel music on his guitar.Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Georgia Bennett Laws; daughter, Claudette Laws; son, Jack Laws (Vivian); daughter-in-law, Barbara Dunn (Jerry); sister, Edna Johnson; brothers, George Laws and John Laws.He was predeceased by his son Bill Laws, six sisters and one brother.Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Marietta First Freewill Baptist Church.The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.The family will be at the home.The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements. -
