- Millie Collins, life-long resident of the vicinity of Mountain Grove, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie McGowan, Monday morning, May 6, 1940, at the age of 75 years. Mrs. Collins came to this country as a pioneer, when a very young lady. She was united in marriage to John Collins, who preceded her in death some eight years ago. Since the death of her husband she has been living with her daughter, most of which time she was in falling health. Mrs. Collins belonged to the Missionary Baptist Church and lived a very devoted Christian life. She was loved by all as a friend for her kindness and understanding. She leaves to mourn her passing four children; Minnie McGowan of the home; Perry Collins of near Mountain Grove; Rosie Henderson of Iowa; Nora Murr of Indiana. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her daughter with Rev. George Neil in charge. Burial was in the Stubbs Cemetery under the directions of the Barber Funeral Home
