- Floyd Hershel Buchanan, 91 Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Waters of Johnson City.
A native of Buleadean, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Clyde & Helena Gouge Buchanan. He was Manager of Park Belks for 46 years. Mr. Buchanan was a founding member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife of 71 years: Geraldine Archer Buchanan.
Survivors include his children: Shelby Jean (Blaine) Shoun, Sharon McKenzie, Whitney Bowling and Susie (Jim) Muller. Two Grandchildren: Corey (Keisha) and Jeremiah (Heidi) Shoun. Three Great Grandchildren: Darcie Dosher, Lyla Shoun and Cora Shoun. A Sister: Myrtle Buchanan, Several nieces & nephews.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Walker Roberson officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday will be: Hershel Bennett, Corey Shoun, Jeremiah Shoun, Blaine Shoun, Tim Archer, Chris Bowling and Nick Powers. Honorary Pallbearers will be his church family.
