- WILHOIT, DENNIS CAIN, JR. - age 82, of Strawberry Plains, died 1:30 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
He was a member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church, Fidelis Sunday class and the United Methodist Men. Retired from the Southern Railway.
Survivors: wife of 58 years, Ginnie Wilhoit; daughters and sons in law, Sharon and Vernon Wise all of Strawberry Plains, Connie & Phil Whitson, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dylan, Trevor and Wesley Whitson, Elizabeth and Spencer Wise; brother and sister in law, Jack & Freda Wilhoit, Fla.; brother, Bill Wilhoit, Johnson City, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Friday Washington Pike United Methodist Church, Dr. Ed Eldridge and Rev. Julie Collins officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 am. Saturday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 10 a.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers: Dylan, Trevor, and Westly Whitson, Spencer Wise, Greg Lampkin, Robby and Todd Humphries. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the Washington Pike United Methodist Church 2241 Washington Pike Knoxville, Tenn. 37917. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at Washington Pike United Methodist Church. Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Ave. at Broadway in charge.
