- JOHNSON CITY - Helen Wilson Mitchell Leach, age 92, Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a native of Yancey County, NC and lived most of her life in Texarkana, TX. Helen is a daughter of the late Walsey A. Wilson and Bessie Mae Williams Wilson.
She was of the Christian Faith. Helen worked as a Registered Nurse for many years before her retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Brackins Anclar; three brothers: Harvey Columbus Wilson, Jack V. Wilson and W.A. Wilson; three sisters: Sally Mae Carlson, Alice Ruth Palmer and Ferne Pence.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one son, Steve Mitchell, Greensboro, NC; two sisters: Maxine Phillippi, Johnson City and Mildred Virginia Lyle, Columbia, SC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Minister Ken Lytton will officiate.
