- Mrs. Yvonne James Deloach, age 86, died suddenly Wednesday morning at the Satilla Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Blackshear.
She was preceded in death by her husband W.T. Deloach, her parents Cleveland James and Rena Bennett James Henderson, a daughter Mary Ellen "Dee" Clauss, son Wayne Deloach and a daughter-in-law Christina Deloach.
Mrs. DeLoach retired as Dep. Clerk of Court in Pierce County where her husband served as Clerk of Superior Court. She had also worked many years at Gilmores Dept. Store as a Sales Lady and as Secretary for the Pierce County Stock Yard.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she was in the Alethean Sunday School Class, the Joy Group and Joy Choir. She was a member of the Sr. Citizens of Pierce County Quilting Club, was active in Water Aerobics at the YMCA, and formerly volunteered at the Pierce County Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter Glynda Brinson Gausnell husband Jack of Carbondale, Colorado, 2 sons Evan Deloach wife Ginger and Winkie Deloach wife Beverly all of Blackshear, 9 grandchildren Kip Clauss wife Jade of Forest Hills, N.Y., Michael Brinson wife Monica of Carbondale, Colorado, Steve Brinson wife Elizabeth of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jeff Deloach of Brandon, Fl., Jennifer Lamotte husband Todd of Monroe, Ga., David Deloach wife Cindy of Rocky Mount, N.C., Karen Battle husband Jim of Wake Forest, NC, Ryan Deloach wife Jennifer of Holly Springs, NC, and Adam Deloach wife Audrey of Blackshear, 20 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Stella Maude Davis Owens and Darcil Henderson Davis both of Blackshear, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 2PM Saturday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 until 8pm at Smith Funeral Home in Blackshear.
