Mattie Bell Walker DeLoach, 77, of Blackshear, died Monday night, October 24, 2005, at the Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, following a brief illness.
She was a native of Brunswick, but had lived most of her life in Pierce County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Burnell DeLoach Sr.; her parents, E.A. Walker and Mattie Barnard Walker; her sister, Agnes Westberry; two brothers Earl Walker and E.A. "Junior" Walker Jr. and a son-in-law. Franklin Griner.
She was a homemaker and attended Ward Memorial Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia L. Griner, Patterson and Chandra G. Peacock (husband Demory), Blackshear; three sons, John B. "Johnny" DeLoach, Blackshear, Steven W. DeLoach (wife Sandra), St. Marys, and Stuart C. Deloach (wife Shelly), Blackshear; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margret Odom (husband Robert), Winder, Jo Tuten (husband Leon), Blackshear, Dolly Youmans (husband Edsol), Bristol; a brother-in-law, Robert Westberry, Blackshear; a sister-in-law, Wilma Walker, Brunswick, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
