- JONESBOROUGH - Gail Queen Whistine, 70, Jonesborough, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Gail was a Johnson City native and a lifelong resident of Johnson City and Jonesborough.
She was the daughter of the late Grover and Ruby White Queen.
Gail received an Associate Degree from Northeast State Technical Community College.
She was an Industrial Lab Technician and worked at Burlington Industries for more than thirty-two years, then Fiber Innovation Technology for the past fifteen years.
Gail was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Whistine, in 2013.
Gail is survived by two sons, Richard Whistine and wife Joy, Indianapolis, IN, and Jackie Whistine, Jonesborough; four brothers, Grover Queen, Jonesborough, Gordon Queen and wife Marie, David Queen and wife Dianah, Keith Queen and wife Kathy, all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Richard Lewis, Minister, and Pat Whisnant, officiating.
Interment will follow in Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
