- ELIZABETHTON - Evelyn Marie Ensor Oxendine, 76, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Friday, March 15, 2019 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cecil & Cora Ellen Gentry Ensor. Marie was a 1961 graduate of Unaka High School. She was a retired employee of Kingsport Press after 18 years of service. She was very active in her church, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Church Choir, served as church clerk and active in the WMU for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Stanley, Raymond, Robert & C. Lee Ensor and two nephews: Randy & Ricky Ensor.
Survivors include her husband: Tom Oxendine, Two Sisters: Lynda Vaughn & husband Tom and Ruby Corder all of Elizabethton. Two Brothers: Howard Ensor & wife Jewell and Ernest "Pete" Ensor & wife Kathy. A special Nephew: Ronnie Ensor, a host of friends, neighbors, nieces & nephews. Her Sisters-In-Law; Phyllis Ensor, Joyce Ensor and Laura Ensor.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eric Heaton and Pastor Sammy Ray Oxendine. Interment will follow in the Ensor Cemetery. Music will be provided by Sacred Journey Quartet. Active Pallbearers will be: Tommy Vaughn, John Corder, James "Bo" Ensor, Michael Ensor, Greg Crowe, Jason Ensor and Ronnie Ensor.
