- Charles "Chuck" Nathaniel Jenkins Sr., age 64, of 432 D. Reece Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was born May 10, 1954, in Mountain City, Tennessee to Robert "Bob" Ray Jenkins and Mary Chessie Corum Jenkins. In addition to his father, Chuck was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Luke Reece.
Chuck was a retired service technician with Heritage Propane. Chuck was a very active member of the Mountain City Church of Christ, where he was an elder, teacher, and the treasurer. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Johnson County High School class of 1972.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife of 43 years, Diane Reece Jenkins; a son, Nathan Jenkins and wife Rebecca of Johnson City, Tennessee; a daughter, Lesley Hughes and husband Josh of Johnson City, Tennessee; his mother, Mary Chessie Jenkins of Mountain City, Tennessee; a sister, Patricia Jackson and husband Ralph of Bristol, Virginia; grandchildren, Eli and Savannah Jenkins and Jordan Hughes. He is also survived by a nephew, David Arnold and wife Kim of Bristol, Virginia; a great niece, Ellie Arnold; mother-in-law, Mary Reece; sister-in-law, Carolyn Dalton and husband Bob of Walland, Tennessee; brother-in-law, David Reece and wife Jennifer of Maryville, Tennessee; nephews Robby Reece and Lucas Reece; a niece Anna Reece.
Funeral Services for Chuck will be conducted on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 7:00 pm from the Mountain City Church of Christ with Ministers Chuck Stewart and Terry Jones to officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment for Chuck will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Jenkins Cemetery on Ackerson Creek Road. Active Pallbearers will be Johnny Howard, Dustin Roush, Van Neely, Eric Wallace, David Arnold, Brad Woods, Rick Moore, and Brad Reece. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Trivette, Bud Townsend, Joe Simcox, Mike Adams, Bill Cockett, Larry Vanherants, Tom Tester, Steve Hawkins, Jeff Rupard, Aaron Cornett, John Greever, Tony Rhudy, and Jim Neely.
