- ERWIN - Gordon Jay Hoyle, age 69, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Erwin, Gordon is a son of Flornia (Yates) Hoyle and the late J. B. Hoyle. He was a member of Canah Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. His occupation included: Lab Technician at Nuclear Fuel Services and maintenance at Appalachian Christian Village. Gordon was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam era. He loved Bluegrass music and enjoyed playing with friends and family.
In addition to his mother, Gordon Jay Hoyle leaves behind to cherish his memory:
Special friend and companion: Lori "Cindy" Hoyle; Daughters: Tammy Maldonado, of Oklahoma, Demia Smith, of Johnson City; Son: Shannon Hoyle, of Johnson City;
Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Sister: Gloria Bennett; Brothers: Ricky Hoyle, Calvin Hoyle; Several nieces and nephews; Best friends: Ron and Sherry Duncan.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Gordon Jay Hoyle in a graveside service to be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June19, 2019 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Reverend Mark Simmons will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Alan Foster. Military Honors will be presented by the United States Army and the Carter County Honor Guard.
