- Carolyn Brewer, age 74, of Elk Park, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9th, 2013 at Watauga Medical Center. A native of Avery County, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Shoemaker Howell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jess Brewer; sister, Kathryn Campbell and an infant sister, Patricia Howell. Carolyn was a member of the Lower Shell Creek Christian Church in Roan Mt., TN, where she devoted her life to the Lord. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband; a son and his wife; two grandsons; a granddaughter; a niece and her husband and their children; a nephew and his wife and their children; and a special cousin and her husband.
A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 12th at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church in Roan Mountain, Tennessee.
