- Daughter of Rev. Edmund Jones FARTHING, Sr. and Lula Rebecca GREENE. Married Henry M. MARTIN, Jr.
Kizzie Mae Farthing Martin, 85, of 2320 W. CR 6, Tiffin, Ruffing Family Care Center, died March 16, 2003, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. She was born Dec. 13, 1917, in Sugar Grove, Watauga County, NC. She married Henry M. Martin Jr. in Athens, Ala., on Feb. 2, 1946. They were married for more than 57 years. She was a high school graduate and completed two years of business school. She worked on the atomic bomb at Oak Ridge, TN. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Henry M. Martin, Jr.; a son, Milton (Susie) Martin of Fresno, CA; a daughter, Becky (Tom) Shaver of Tiffin; a brother, Edmund (Hazel) Farthing of Sugar Grove, NC; three sisters, Alpha Perry of Mebane, NC, Lennis Efstation of Burnsville, NC, and Jodie (Oran) Dugger of Burnsville, NC; four grandchildren, Cliff Adams, Jenny Citty, Blaine Martin and Matt Shaver; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Adams, Jimmy Citty and Kizzie Citty.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and a brother, Blaine Farthing.
Funeral services were held at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, officiated by Jim Martin. Burial in Seneca Memory Gardens.
