- Lon Herbert Wiseman, 91, of Burlington passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Liberty Commons surrounded by his family. He was born in Avery County to the late Charles Alexander Wiseman and Alberta Nevada Cuthberson Wiseman and was married to the late Joyce Franklin Wiseman.
Lon was head of maintenance at Carolina Biological for 35 years. He was a mason and shriner who spent time transporting children to and from the Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC. He enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife, playing cards and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his Daughters: Debbie Feemster (Robert), Judy Troxler (Bobby) and Lonita Ahern (Kevin); five Grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren and a Sister: Marcell Valencia. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a Brother: Albert Wiseman.
A private graveside service will be held in Spruce Pine, NC at a later date.
