- Bakersville - Georgia Viola Masters, 84, of Bakersville, died at her home Thursday, July 8, 2004, after a brief illness.
She was a daughter of the late Garrett and Mary Greene Garland. Mrs. Masters was a member of Berea Church of the Brethren, a devoted mother and loving wife to Frank Masters for 66 years.
Mrs. Masters is survived by her husband, Frank C. Masters; daughter, Barbara Masters Reid and husband, Ray, of Bakersville; three sons, Phillip and wife, Norma, Wilburn and wife, Pat, of Bakersville and Wayne and wife, Blanche, of Clear Springs, Md.; three sisters, Hazel Stevens of Bakersville, Fairy Mae Carver of Johnson City, Tenn., and Shirley Yelton of Finksburg, Md.; four brothers, Malone Garland of Bakersville, Cecil and Earnest Garland of Johnson City, Tenn., and Nattie Garland of Glen Rock, Pa.; four grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Yelton and one brother, Roy Garland.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home officiated by Clifford Willis, Ronnie Gouge and Cecil Garland.
Burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday in Garland Cemetery, Masters Drive, Bakersville.
