- Nellie Garland Yelton, age 81, of Hubert Yelton Rd. passed away Monday, March 31 2003. She was the daughter of the late Garrett and Mary Green Garland, and a native of Mitchell County, NC. She was a homemaker and attended The Church Of Jesus Christ (Beans Creek). She was preceded in death by; Husband - Hubert Yelton, Brother; Roy Garland.. Survivors include; Daughter - Clara Jean Yelton and husband Larry, of Bakersville, NC. Sisters; Hazel Stevens, and Viola Masters, both of Bakersville, Fairy Mae Carver, of Johnson City, TN, and Shirley Yelton, of Finksburg, Md. Brothers; Malone Garland, of Bakersville, NC, Nattie Garland, of Glen Rock, Pa., Cecil Garland and Ernest Garland, both of Johnson City, TN. Grandsons; Dean Anthony Yelton, and Brandon Joel Yelton. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 2 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home, with the Reverends G.B. Garland and Dallas Cook officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, April 3 at 11AM, in Greene - Garland Cemetery (Fork Mtn. Rd).
