- Elizabethton Star Wednesday, February 9, 2005 Gladys W. Arnold Gladys Wilson Arnold, 83, 2138 Highway 91, Elizabethton, died Monday, February 7, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Arnold was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Hobert and Bell Loudy Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arnold, March 20, 1998.
Mrs. Arnold was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Wesley Largent, and two grandsons, Markeus Largent and Trent Largent, all of Elizabethton; a brother, George Wilson, Elizabethton; and three sisters, Ellen Canter, Ruth Nave and Josie Canter, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 10, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Richard Thomason, Minister, and Rev. Clarence Phillips officiating. Music will be under the direction of Trent Largent. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 11, at Esor Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Friday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, or at other times at the residence of her daughter, Tammy Largent, 164 Largent Drive, Highway 91, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Craig Davis, Gary Arnold, Dudley Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Dale Largent and Terrry Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Arnold, Tyron Arnold, Glen Arnold, the staff of ICU at Johnson City Medical Center and the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
