- Marjory L. Hodge, age 86, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went home to be with her husband and baby son on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, TN, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Lawrence and Clara Edith "Sally" Shell Scott. Mrs. Hodge was raised in the Christian Church, but was a member of Watauga Flats Church of God. Marjory and her husband, Archie, were former Dairy Farmers. She retired from driving a school bus for the Washington County School System after 22 years of service. Mrs. Hodge was a member of T.O.P.S TN 446, Elizabethton. She loved and enjoyed her family, and considered it a family reunion when everyone would come and visit. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by her husband, Archie L. Hodge Sr., in October 2009; infant son, Archie Hodge Jr.; sister, Grace Marie Carty; brother, Roy D. Scott; she also had 4 siblings that passed away at an early age. Survivors include two sons, Donald L. Hodge Sr. and wife, Judy, Johnson City; James H. "Buster" Hodge and wife, Karen, Johnson City; three daughters, Judy Pearce and husband, Earl Cannon, Watauga, Janice Sellars, Gray, and Kathy Olinger and husband, Gary, Blountville, TN; special daughter, Karen Curtis, Johnson City; Fourteen Grandchildren; special granddaughter, Kasey Stewart; forty great grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Hodge, Watauga, TN, and Louise Harwood, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Hodge will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 31, 2013, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Ministers Mr. Ernie Depew and Mr. Lynn Bennett officiating. Music will be provided by the family. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home, or other times at the residences of the children at anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 1, at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
