- Mrs. Sarah Ann Guy, 84, formerly of Hampton, Tenn., went to be with her Lord for Christmas on Sunday, December 24, 2006, at the Life Care Center in Elizabethton following an extended illness. Mrs. Guy was a native of Avery County, N.C., and was a daughter of the late Lee and Martha Henson Norris. She was a Homemaker and loved the Lord, her family, growing flowers, rainbows and animals. She was a member of the Flat Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Potter, and her second husband, Albert Jack Guy, on October 4, 1993, and by two sons, Arnold Potter and Clifford Guy. Survivors include three daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary and David Roark, Denella and Robert Gwin, all of Hampton; and Evelyn and Dean Estep of Elk Park, N.C.; two sons, Charles Guy and Gene Potter, both of Butler; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Guy will be conducted at 1:00 PM. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Williams and Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Elk Park, N.C. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 26, 2006, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, or you may call at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Roark, 123 Hideaway Lane, Hampton, Tenn., at any time. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be friends, neighbors and the doctors and nursing staff at Life Care Center of Elizabethton and Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
