- Charles Henry O'Dell, 74, Route 5, BristoL, Tenn., died Thursday, Nov. 24, 1988, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn. He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was held as a P. O. W. He was a retired electrician, having worked at the Monroe Company and Easley Heating Service. He was a member of the Central Holston Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia O'Dell; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Flynn) O'Neal, Bristol Tennessee; one son, Dr. Charles S. O'Dell, Chevy Chase, Md.; one brother, Claude O'Dell, Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Sarah Bertha O'Dell, Bluff City, and Nancy Lee Kincheloe, Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews
Funeral services for Charles Henry O'Dell will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Central Holston Christian Church with Sid Tiller and Dr. Roy Searem officiating. Burial will follow in Shipley Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by VFW Patton Crosswhite Post 6975. Pallbearers will be Finley Witcher, Isaac O'Dell, George Webb O'Dell, Carl Kincheloe, Carl Kesley. Dr. Don Branson, William O'Dell and Charles Shipley. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Witcher, Johnny O'Dell, William Kincheloe, J. D. Morrell, Faye Morrell, Charles Shipley, Walter Kelsey, Ernest Morrell, Woodrow Morrell and Bobbie O'Dell.
