- Mrs. Hazel G. Kinnick Hall, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Ridge Rest Assisted Living Center in Columbus, N.C. Mrs. Hall was a native of Cranberry, N.C., and the daughter of John and Cora Sullivan Greer. She was also preceded in death by John Kinnick (husband), Fred Hall (husband) and sisters, Faye McGuire and China Wishon.
Since 1942, Mrs. Hall resided in Elizabethton, Tenn. It was there that she raised her daughters, Wanda Kinnick Manson and husband John of Tryon, N.C., Dianne Kinnick Jones and husband Johnie of Whitsett, N.C., and Jan Kinnick Bunce and husband John of Diamondhead, Miss. In addition, she was also blessed with four grandsons and their wives, David and Kim Meredith, Robin and Rachel Meredith, Matt and Kristi Jones, Jonathan and Jennifer Nave, and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hall found her passion in a nursing career later in life. She worked as a head surgical nurse at Carter County Memorial Hospital, Elizabethton, Tenn., and retired from the Mountain Home Veteran's Administration, Johnson City, Tenn., after 25 years. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Church.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Jessica Fitch, and the caring staff at Ridge Rest Assisted Living, along with special friend and Home Health Nurse, Kristen Holbert. Also, to Landrum United Methodist Church, and loving friends that have supported her through this journey.
A private graveside service will be held for family and close requested friends.
