- Martha Jean Johnson, 72, of Candler, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals.
A native of Haywood Co., she was a daughter of the late Blaine and Texie Kuykendall Trull. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ted Johnson, who died in 1990; and son, Richard "Bo" Johnson, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Johnson's profession was taking care of other people. She had also volunteered for the Republican Party as a poll worker and was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Darlene Lanning, of Candler, and Janet Hall and husband Tyson, of Etowah; sons, Kenneth Johnson and wife Teresa, and Carl Johnson and wife Brenda, all of Candler; sister, Rachel Plemmons, of Candler; brother, Paul Trull and wife Lottie, of Candler, and Harley Trull and wife Beulah, of Morganton; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at New Morgan Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Winfred Bennett, Dennis Shepherd, and Charles Sprinkle officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
