- Carrie Walls Church, 90, of Vilas, wife of the late Robert Bob Church, died Thursday morning, October 7, 2004 at home.
She was born October 25, 1913, in Watauga County, to the late Richard and Lucinda Ragan Walls.
Mrs. Church was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, and three daughters. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great- great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Junior "Buck" Church, an infant daughter, Bonnie Lou Church, a granddaughter, Margie Sheffield, two brothers, Paul and Clay Walls and a son-in-law, Bill Sheffield.
Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at Vilas Valley Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Rector Henson and the Rev. Eric Cornett. Burial followed in the Greene Cemetery in Vilas.
