- Mandlene Greer Morley, age 93, of Shady Valley, TN passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mandlene was the daughter of the late Roby James Greer and Verda Rachel Martin Greer of Shady Valley, TN. Mandlene was preceded in death by Delmer David Morley, her husband of 75 years. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Tishia Miller, Sue Miller and infant sister Nancy Greer; two sons-in-law: Jim Walker and Wayne Moser.
Mandlene is survived by two daughters: Jewell Morley Walker of Johnson City, TN and Carolyn Morley Moser of Lewisville, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Jason Moser and wife Kim of Advance, NC and Amy Forrester Drake and husband Wes and two great-grandsons Asher Drake and Walker Drake all of Knoxville, Tennessee; two sisters: Lorella Greer Tolliver and Ellen Greer Dunn of Shady Valley, Tennessee; brother-in-law Dale Morley and wife Phyllis of Kingsport, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews. Special nephew Kermit Morley and wife Alice of Shady Valley, Tennessee, special friend Stella Payne of Mountain City Care Center, and many good friends also survive.
Mandlene was an active member of Shady Valley Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was an excellent seamstress and cook who enjoyed her beautiful flowers and working in her vegetable and flower gardens.
The family would like to thank the Mountain City Care Center of Mountain City, Tennessee for the excellent care and kindness shown to their mother during the past few months. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the Shady Valley Baptist Church, Shady Valley, Tennessee or the charity of your choice.
Funeral service were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Spencer and Rev. Richard Stout officiating. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and burial was in Shady Valley Memorial Gardens following the funeral service. Pallbearers are; Kermit, Tad, Kenneth and Lonnie Morley, Gary Dunn, Gary McQueen, Keith Miller, and Stephen Tolliver.
